I graduated Huntington High School and attended art school, but soon realized
I was going to starve to death if I did not do something more lucrative. So,
I enrolled in Secretarial School. I then got a job with the Mutual Broadcasting
System and then the NY Telephone Company. I worked a few years and in the
meantime I married Bill Andersen. We just celebrated our 41st Wedding Anniversary
in May.
I stopped working to raise our children. Got involved with Girl Scouting for
many years. When my youngest was in Jr. High School I went to work full time
for a company in Huntington called Genealogy Research Corp. for 20 years.
I was a researcher and Associate with the firm. We located missing Heirs to
intestate estate matters world wide. A very interesting and rewarding job.
We also located missing people.
Bill and I have two beautiful daughters we are very proud of. Karen lives
in Leamington, Ontario with her husband Stuart Miller. Janet lives in Greenville,
SC with her husband Bill Krinke. Karen's 18 year old son, Robert, attends
Wilberham & Munson Academy in Mass. Janet and Bill are in the process
of adopting. We can hardly wait!
Bill & I are enjoying retirement. For over 25 years we have been members
of a living history 18th Century reenactment group (The 3rd NY Continental
Line) which we help to found during the Bicentennial. Bill is also interested
in Civil War and other Military History.
I have served on the Administrative Board at the United Methodist Church of
Huntington/Cold Spring Harbor for 20 years and I am the Chairman of the Altar
Committee and the Church Historian. I love gardening and have recently started
taking piano lessons.
Our lives are very full and we have truly been blessed with many happy years.
