Hi guys,
This will be my first reunion since graduation from HHS. I am really looking
forward to seeing you. My memory has been refreshed by your wonderful website.
I moved to Halesite in 1955. I lived up the hill where there used to be golf
course..in a new split level home. After graduation from HHS, I attended
Northwestern University where I graduated in 1960, During the summers I worked
at the Huntington Hospital filling in
for office people taking vacations. It was fun!!
Taught school for awhile in Chicago suburbs. Decided to do something else
so I became a Hostess for TWA. I flew out of NY for several years. I loved
it,
traveled everywhere the US and Europe. I met my husband Bob at NU. We both
ended up working in NYC. He lived on 72nd st. and I lived on 76st.eastside.
Bob worked on Wall Street as a municipal
bond
trader for John Nuveen Co. We were married and continued to live in NYC.
We made a major move in 1968 when Bob got a terrific job offer. We packed
up our son and with a baby on the way moved to Houston. We've in the Houston
area
ever since. Houston has been great!!!! We have always lived in a golf course
community. (which we may not have been able to do in NY area). We have two
boys and
two grandchildren, Robbie,7, and Reagan 9. They all live in the Houston area.
Bob is an avid golfer; his game is little off right now. The boys are golfers
and my granddaughter, Reagan, is not bad.
I play too but have never worked at the game to be really good. I hope now
that I am not working I will take the game more seriously.
Oh! my working---what a pain in the neck----my husband got into an apartment
house deal in 1972----I and two other partner's wives were to save money
by managing it---the other wives backed out and I was stuck with
it...52 units in a bad rental market.. The partners backed out eventually
and I continued until 2000 and my son took over. This year is my last for
doing any bookwork.. Cheers!
We've had good vacations!! Most have centered around golf, we take the clubs
everywhere. Every year, June, we go to LI to visit friends and then to Maine....love
the lobsters...the water,etc. We go to Myrtle Beach in August to play golf
and visit Charleston. We used to go skiing in Jan....I no longer go but Bob
goes with his ski club. Last summer we took a 2 week bus trip thru England,Scotland
and Wales. Had a great time and a fantastic guide!!!!!
