Joan Mele....What's Happened Since 1956

Finally making time to do a little Bio on whats been going on in my life since 56. I worked for a year and
a half for Permatex up on Broadway in the station till I married in 1958.I married Al Bottego who graduated in 1955 from Simpson.

We married in September and moved to Ft. Benning, Georgia where Al was stationed for almost three years. We spent two and a half months of that at Ft. Knox while he went to school and than in 1961 we returned to Huntington. While in Georgia we had two girls, Donna and Joanne.

After we returned to Huntington Al worked for my father's oil business and I stayed home and had two
more kids, a boy Skip (nickname) and Kristina. After Kristina was born I went back to work waitressing and then later on after she was in school full time I worked for Fairchild Camera in the acccounting
department. Had a few other bookkeeping jobs throughout the next few years until the kids started to get
married. Al and I divorced in 1990.

For the past 3 years I have been working in Riverhead for Adchem Corp. in the accounting department, as assistant bookkeeper to both the Receivables and Payables Department. God willing, at the end of this year I hope to retire.I moved back to the Huntington area (Greelawn in fact) last June after my sister passed away, to be closer to my mother.

As for my kids, they've spread out-- except one. Donna lives in Colorado and is an RN, Joanne still lives on the Island and is a Travel agent and involved very much with the PTA and her kids' sports. Skip works out of the Ashville sheriffs department in North Carolina, and Kristina is an assistant pharmacist tech for
Albertsons in Florida. All in all they have given me 12 grandchildren, two of whom are in college.

Where did the years go?? Looking forward to the 50th reunion. Haven't missed one yet. Made the mini in June but not able to make the one in Florida next month.
The web site is great and I keep checking it for anything new.
Take Care All
