Robert (Bobby) Hamilton

(Bobby passed away on June 30, 2006)

Great to hear from you after all these years. To bring everyone up to date:

After high school I joined the Air force. In 1958 a service buddy and I decided to take advantage of the "early out program" and head for Los Angeles, Cal. to seek our fortunes (smile). I joined a local singing group named the "Premiers"(the group later morphed into the "Viscounts"). We toured the west coast and Vegas singing "doo wop"in nite-clubs, theaters and lounges and recorded a couple of "45's" that never made it into the "top ten". In 1960 the group broke up and I returned to Huntington.

I bounced around L.I. working construction, bartending, selling life insurance and working as a court officer in "Suff. Co. District Court". In 1963 I maried Marilyn Seaman (HHS class of 1960) and went to work for the Huntington Station Post Office. In 1968 I left the Post Office and ,with my fathers help, opened the L-Shaped Room cocktail lounge in Huntington Station.

In 1975, after my parents had passed away, my wife and I closed the business, sold our home and moved to Albuquerque, NM. I returned to work for the Postal Service and retired from them in 1997 with 30 years combined service. My wife and I then moved to Las Vegas NV where we currently reside.

We look forward to celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in 2003 and attending the class reunion in 2006. sincerely yours, Robert (Bobby)Hamilton
